GIVING
I learned about my assignment at Lausanne today. I’ll be working with the Global Executive Leadership Forum, helping with the welcome desk throughout the conference. I have to admit, I felt full of pride when I thought about the amount of event planning experience and communications experience I have that is not going to be used by me being behind a welcome desk. But God’s teaching me a thing or two about serving. Pray for that servant’s heart and wouldn’t you know, God will actually put it to the test :) And so it goes, how do I serve and GIVE myself to the glory of the Lord by checking people in and letting them know where the bathrooms are? I am going to let you know if I figure that out, but I know this is part of what makes an event run and I am happy to be a part of it. We took a tour of the conference center and walked into the empty room where the plenary sessions are going to be. On the floor were sprawls of tables and chairs (grouped in six to foster the small group discussions) and on the screens played a video of the history church. Pretty cool to think that this room is going to be packed with believers from all over the world in the next couple days. I learned 22 stewards from China were stopped at the border, their passports taken and they were escorted home. Please pray for them and others who are still trying to get here. Thank you. Love you all.
