Midway Point

Second day of the conference yesterday . Midway through my time in South Africa. First FULL day. We gave out free bibles at the welcome desk from Crossway and specifically hoped to give them to people in areas where access to bibles were more difficult to find. Within 10 minutes, I had given out so many to people from all over the world - Morocco, Malaysia, Niger and unnamed places. In a smaller setting, I heard the first multiplex, choosing to go to Media Messages Matter, which discussed multiple perspectives of the media (Middle East, Latin America, Europe) and initiatives that people were doing to share the gospel through meda - social media, radio, movies, etc. I think my favorite part was that there was a lot of discussion and sharing as well - not just a bunch of speakers. My group was a woman from Ghana and a man from Norway, and we discussed the various worldviews that were articulated through the media we received in our country. It pretty much was the same between the three - individualism, materialism and sex is king.

Today in particular, God is teaching me I am called to love the broken as well as the rich. And I am seeing that I am predispositioned to love the broken more easily but the privileged it is hard to sympathize or understand how they need to be loved and shown understanding and forgiveness. But God is teaching me that all people are God’s children - who am I to decide who is more deserving or less?
